Common local pests
The pests Portland families deal with most
Ants, spiders, roaches, wasps and bed bugs are the bugs we treat most in Portland. Eight wet months, old homes and a lot of shared walls make it easy for them. Rats are their own story. Roof rats climb in from the trees and Norway rats dig into crawlspaces, so they get their own page.
Ants
Odorous house ants march in after every heavy rain. Spray the trail and they just split up.
Moles & gophers
Your yard shouldn’t look like Swiss cheese. Wet Portland lawns are mole heaven.
Spiders
Giant house spiders show up every September. We keep them outside.
Wasps
By August the yellowjackets get bold. Let us do the part that involves getting stung.
Cockroaches
German roaches travel between apartments through walls and pipes. It’s never just one.
Fleas
They ride in on pets, raccoons and possums living under the house.
Bed bugs
Mattress seams, couches and baseboards. Every room they’ve reached gets treated.
Rodents
Portland’s biggest pest problem. Roof rats in the attic, Norway rats in the crawlspace. We seal them out, not just trap them.

Local pest story
Why Portland homes feel like pest magnets
Rain drives bugs inside. Old homes give them a way in. Shared walls let roaches and bed bugs move from one unit to the next. A few ants on the counter or a spider in the tub can turn into a real problem fast.
So we don’t treat every house the same. We look at moisture, trees, how your home is built and where the pests are getting in. Then we treat the spots that matter, not the whole block.
-
A rat can squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter.
-
Roof rats are climbers. They come in through the attic, not the front door.
-
Crush an odorous house ant and it smells like rotten coconut.
-
By late summer, one yellowjacket nest can hold thousands of workers.

What Oregon families say
Portland pest control
Frequently asked questions
What bugs do you treat in Portland?
Ants, spiders, cockroaches, wasps, yellowjackets, fleas and bed bugs, plus rats and mice. We don’t treat termites. Most Portland calls start with ants after a rain or spiders in September. Our technicians find where the bugs get in, treat the source and come back free if they return within a year.
Why are there so many bed bugs in Portland?
Lots of apartments, secondhand furniture, buses, trains and motels. Bed bugs hitch a ride and spread between units through shared walls. We treat every room they’ve reached, not just the bedroom.
How much does pest control cost in Portland?
Plans start at $49 a month for bugs and $69 a month for bugs plus rats and mice. Your exact price depends on your home’s size and the pests you have. See every plan on our pricing page.
How soon can you get to my Portland home?
Often the same day. It depends on where you live and how full the day’s routes are. Call or text 541-636-0146 and we’ll give you the first opening.
Is your pest control safe for kids and pets?
Our treatments are pet-friendly, and we use professional, EPA-registered products. Most of our work is outside, around the foundation, eaves and entry points. For inside treatments like bed bugs or cockroaches, your technician tells you before starting if people and pets need to stay out of a room, and for how long.
What if pests come back after my treatment?
We come back too, at no extra cost. Every plan includes our 1-year Pest-Free Promise, with unlimited re-treatments for the pests your plan covers.
Do I need to be home?
For the first visit, yes. Your technician walks the property with you and answers your questions. After that, most outside visits happen while you’re away, and you get a service report after each visit.
Do you treat termites?
No, we don’t treat termites. A lot of Portland “termite” calls turn out to be carpenter ants, and those we do treat. We find the nest and treat it at the source.
